PASTRANA WINS COLORADO AND HIS 3RD STRAIGHT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Make that three in a row! Last weekend Travis Pastrana won Rally Colorado by a matter of seconds, giving him enough points to secure his 3rd Straight Rally America National Championship!

Day one saw some consistent driving from Travis, working up a 28 second lead by the end of it. With some chargers hot on his heals, Travis managed to maintain his fairly strong lead… until stage 16. There, he ran into a boulder that ripped his rear tire apart. Travis slowly finished the stage, ending it with just a .4 second lead.

Never one to have victory taken away from him that easily, Travis charged through the remaining two stages, winning each by just a hair to extend his lead to 4 seconds.

"I just couldn't give it up," said Travis. "After driving conservatively all weekend with a good lead, it was great to have a challenge at the end, it makes the win and the championship that much sweeter.”

Even though there’s still one more round to go this year, the win mathematically secured Travis the overall 2008 Rally America National Championship. Travis is still the only driver to win back to back championships, let alone three in a row! Congrats Travis!
