Biography
Dave Mirra is, without a doubt, one of the biggest names in action sports. He’s also one of the winningest with over 20 X Games medals. Dubbed the “Miracle Boy”, Dave has helped shape what the X Games are today. Mirra’s BMX fame led him to host MTV’s “Inferno” for two seasons, cameo rolls on shows like “Las Vegas,” and various other appearances all over TV. Dave has also been featured in several editions of his own video game series, “Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX.” 2006 marked a change for Dave as he left Haro Bikes after 11 years to start his own bike company, MirraCo Bikes.
2008 saw Dave's entrance to the rally scene. With the help of his teammate, friend, and boss at DC Ken Block, Dave attended and raced at select rally events all season. Ken even gave Dave one of his Subaru rally cars to help him along! With each event through 2008 Dave got better and better. A highlight of the year was a suprise to the rally world--a bronze medal in Rally Car Racing at Summer X Games 14. Quite a feat, considering Dave's rookie status and intense competition at that event!
For 2009 Dave’s involvement in rally car racing has stepped up significantly. Before Sno*Drift, the first event of the Rally America National Championship season, Dave was officially announced as the newest member of Subaru Rally Team USA. Along with teammate Travis Pastrana and Ken Block, he will be racing all year as a factory sponsored driver. Dave, however, will be racing in Super Production Rally, a new class that’s a notch below the main class that Travis and Ken race in—it’s a cheaper and easier way to get involved in rally car racing. He kicked off the season in a great way, taking 6th at Sno*Drift.
